Name: Clyde Lee Sex: Male Year of Birth: 2003 Breed: Domestic Shorthair Fur Color: Bicolor Eye Color: Green Biography: Born in a shelter, Clyde had what we thought was just an Upper Respiratory Infection when he came home -- but when it didn't improve, I took him to the vet and discovered it was pneumonia and pleural effusion. The vet didn't hold out a lot of hope, but in desperation, I agreed to give Clyde a very strong antibiotic that is not approved for use in kittens because it can cause blindness. After two doses, I saw improvement, so I didn't give him any more. Today, he's strong and healthy and his vision is fine! Clyde's human is CarolPetunia; his kitty family is Pearl Noelle, Dylan Ishmael, Sassy Lane, St. John Dundee, and Abby Helen (Clydie's mom). |
Arrival Story: Clyde's mother, Abby Helen, was a semi-feral stray brought to the shelter where I volunteer, where she promptly delivered five beautiful boys. I was on duty when they were placed up for adoption eight weeks later, and I fell in love with the whole family... but in the end, it was Clyde and his sweet little nosekisses that stole my heart. Favorite Food & Treats: Clydie loves to eat, and his current favorite is Merrick's "Southern Delight" flavor (canned). He's not very fond of people food, but reserves the right to taste-test everything. :-) Favorite Toys: Clyde will play with anything that dangles -- but his favorite thing in the world is the carpeted half-tubes on our kitty trees. He sprawls on his back in those little cradles and wiggles and wallows and arches and twists... it's quite a show! |
