View Full Version : Nature's Miracle Cat Litter Shanynne 2nd September 2006, 01:18 PM Has anyone tried this ? Thanks gizmocat 3rd September 2006, 02:07 AM I swear by it. It's the best one out there. Nelle 3rd September 2006, 02:23 AM I agree, great stuff, and won't throw your back out trying to haul it home. Good value for the $, long-lasting. AimeeInOhio 3rd September 2006, 07:59 AM I've never seen it before. Shanynne 3rd September 2006, 02:02 PM What is the texture like? Is it very light and fluffy, or does it have a bit of weight. My cats love to dig. I take it that it clumps super hard and controls the odor well. Thanks guys. gizmocat 4th September 2006, 11:26 PM It's great for digging; the texture is of light gravel. It's made of corncob treated with a citrus of some kind, but the cat likes it. There is a light citrus smell when you first put it in the box but it does a great job with the urine. Poos smell a bit when the cat 'goes' but not at all after they dehyrdrate--I think this is true of all litters actually. The stuff is lightweight but heavy enough to stay in the box, and the clumps go straight into the toilet so there's no need to toss garbage bags out twice a day. I think this is a brilliant product and would recommend it to anyone. Shanynne 5th September 2006, 01:06 AM Thanks for the info, I think I will give it a try:) Shanynne Extreme Kitty Lover jaycee 5th September 2006, 04:20 AM i just recently got a bag of this stuff and i have to honestly say it is the WORST cat litter i have tried. yes even worse than special kitty non-clumping. it makes my apartment smell so bad i cant stand it. i called petsmart where i bought it from and asked if i can exchange it for another kind of litter. i just cant believe how awful this stuff is!! gizmocat 9th September 2006, 12:14 AM It certainly doesn't make my apartment smell, and are you sure that you got this particular brand? There are two other corncob brands out there. anyway, the only negative I can say is that one of the three upstairs cats hated it, though the other two and the owners liked it. But your mileage may differ. The only cat litter I could not stand the smell of was the Arm and Hammer which had a sickly perfume smell. But Nature's Miracle has very little odor, and what there is, is pleasant. At least to me and Gizmo. jaycee 9th September 2006, 01:26 AM It certainly doesn't make my apartment smell, and are you sure that you got this particular brand? At least to me and Gizmo. yes, definately that brand, i saw another corncob brand and will definately never try it after my experience with natures miracle. the original smell of the litter was pleasant and reminded me of pine. but after it mixes with urine/poop, it reacts in such a way that makes the smell unbearable to me. gizmocat 9th September 2006, 12:04 PM Well, the cat's diet may also affect the way the litter reacts. Gizmo smelled a lot more before she was put on an allergy diet (she had gas from the chicken diet and the bathroom used to be a bit much after she'd used it) but now, there's hardly any odor at all. I do not recommend the other corncob based brand---it is a blue bag with a white cat on it--this stuff was horrendous. I lost it when poor Gizmo tracked bright yellow footprints all over my pillow since she could not get this stuff off her paws. I hope you can find another organic litter to use. Many people and cats like Feline Pine, which Gizmo and I did not--but as we can see, different situations can lead to different reactions. jaycee 10th September 2006, 02:07 AM Well, the cat's diet may also affect the way the litter reacts. I wouldn't believe any claims of flushability. Yesterday's News, World's Best Cat Litter, SWheat Scoop are all flushable. |
