View Full Version : Question about taking a cat to the vet

My Bob has a problem with poop sticking to his fur. I called the vet's office and one of the techs will shave him down. However, the only appointement before the weekend is tomorrow morning @ 10:20a. Bob is a very hard cat to get into a carrier, which adds to the problem. I work for a TV station and we're trying to get logs (list of shows and commericals) out through Tuesday by 3p tomorrow so I just can't take off. I feel that I have 3 options:

1) Go in early but take Bob with me so that I can just travel the half hour or so to the vets. I do have a co-worker who claims to be alergic to cats but never sneezes around me despite the fact that I'm ususally covered in cat hair.

2) Go in early, leave earlier than with #1, get him at home and then go to the vets.

3) Try to get my brother to take him. The problem is that my brother may have a hard time getting Bob into the carrier, and he almost never travels anywhere without his chihuahua and Bob doesn't like dogs. (He would be willing to leave the dog at home if I asked, however.)

Which should I do? I'm leaning towards taking him to work with me.

Have you asked if you can drop him off sooner?

They might not be able to start working on him sooner but there's not a reason in the world he can't sit and wait at the vets instead of your office.
We have cats dropped off at 7AM and don't actually start working on them until 10- it all depends.

Thanks - I'll call and find out. The office opens @ 8 and it's just off my way to work.
