Hi everbody hope your frouth was ok?
I am looking for A carrier for my cat.
There are two that i'm looking at one is 50.00 and the outher is 30.00
The 50.000 one has a cage like top that openes
and the 30.00 one dosen't.
Out of thees two I was leaning trured the 50.00 one but ever time I get the money I don't get it.
Wich is better for my cat?
Oh and I can say she dose not care for the carrier very much at all.
This is how she looks now and she waghs about 10 pounds.

I'm sure that either of the carriers you're looking at will do fine.

I have 2 types of carriers. I have 3 Petnation Pet Taxi's from Wal-Mart, that look just like the one that dawnofsierra posted. And I have 3 folding soft crate carriers that have top & front entry. I bought the meduim size, for my bigger cats because I wanted something roomy enough for them to be comfortable in the event of hurricane evacuations. I can also put 2 cats in the medium crates if I need to. If it were just for traveling to the vet, the small size would be fine for all of my cats. I really love my folding carriers, everytime I use one for a vet visit, my vet comments on how nice it is.

I want one of these but I'm struggling to find somewhere in the UK that sells them. A top opening carrier is a huge advantage when at the vets - esp if your cat doesn't like to get out!

I've not seen that one before! There are other top load ones, but I've never tried them - despite my RB cat being determined never to get in her carrier! :lol2:

I have a bunch of pet taxis and other brands-the simple plastic halfs bottled down and a metal front door...I have a few cages left out in my room and the cats are all used to them so no fighting when we have to make a vet trip. before I put them in cage I put a harness on them so it makes it eaiser at vets to just pull them out. Also clip thier nails right before so think the vet appreciates it:) RJ

I went on line to Petsmart and tryed to get the carrier I wanted
for a darn good price.
So I get everthing set up and they woulen't take my debet
card tryed 3 times somthing with there systm i think.
So today i was out and fegered I would stop at the Petsmart here and look.
What you know they had the same one but 2.00 higher so I got it.
Only paied about 33.00 for it and it holds up to 15 pounds.
Wich should do fine for the Queen Mother.
Now the joke is getting her there wich takes time.
As i saide she hats the thing and fights the whole way in.

I personally don't like the carriers with the opening at the top. They don't seem secure enough for me, with the handle being where the door also is. My fear is the that the top will open while I am carrying it, causing the cat to escape.

You can get a reluctant cat in a carrier by standing the carrier on its back so the front is facing up. Works the same, but it's much safer, and less expensive too.

I boutght the carrier from walmart for only $15. I love it. It's very secure when snapped in place, and it's easy to take apart if my cat decides he does not want to come out the same way he came in.

That was my fear before I got one. Now I wish I'd gotten one like that from the very beginning, as it's really much easier at the vets'. I use one that opens both from the side and the top and is made for dogs up to 15 kilograms. Since Jamie weighs 6 kilos, the grate at the top is sturdy enough, and a shoulder strap also takes some of the burden off the handle.

Have you checked out this site? http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/cats/cat_accessories_outdoor/cat_carriers_kennels I have the Clipper (largest size), which opens from the top and the side.

I have the small pet taxi. Zissou likes her carrier, and would sleep in it all day if I left it out, so I don't really need one you can open on the top. I like that it comes apart, so you can take the door off if you want to use it as a hidey hole for your cat. And it has a seatbelt clip for the car ride.

Well I can't find a link that shows the exact one but i have the blitz soft sided that you can get from walmart for like 16 bucks and its really nice, sterdy and would also work great on airplanes, even for a 10lber.
