I'm putting together a first aid kit for my cats. I have a lot of the supplies in the house already but I want to make it easier should there be an emergency. I was wondering if I could get some input on things I might be forgetting. I've also included somthings that aren't "emergency" items but this way they are easy to find.

Latex gloves
Sterile gauze rolls and pads (various sizes)
Adhesive tape
Hydrogen peroxide
Tweezers
Petroleum jelly
Antibiotic ointment (Neosporin)
Cotton balls
Q-tips
Splints and tongue depressors
Penlight or flashlight
Scissors
Nail clippers
thermometer
Ice pack
Plastic eyedropper or syringe
Sterile saline solution
Ear-cleaning solution
Hairball medication
Blanket
Towels
A pillowcase (to confine the cat for treatment, if necessary)
Vet's phone number
Emergency Vet phone number
Poison control phone number
Cats medical info/shot records

Thanks!!!

You do seem to have a few cats,
I care for a feral colony and have both of these Items, but going off a recent experience I had, even the most timid of cats can put up a fight when you have to get a hold of them so i would suggest a landing net(the kind they use in fishing) you can pick them up for about five pounds, and a thick pair of gloves:)

Don't forget the styptic powder to help clotting for too close clipped nails and tiny cuts.... I'd also keep a basic medical history for each cat in there (include the cat's description) just in case its someone else that ends up using the kit for your kitties.... and an instant ice pack (if u didn't already include that, now I cant remember, haha)

Thanks for reminding me about the styptic powder. I knew I was forgetting something.

Betadine, a muzzle or at least an elizabethan collar, a slip lead, super glue (great for small cuts), vetwrap (better than gauze and tape IMO), ipecac to induce vomiting, benadryl, activated charcoal, Nutrical, and a copy of a good book like "A Cat Owner's Home Veterinary Guide", or at least written CPR instructions. Heavy gloves wouldn't hurt. A crate. I keep an otoscope and a stethoscope as well, but these are things I have accumulated over time.
