Kipper & Mushi are constantly getting stuck on things. Every day now, about 2-3 times a day. They never used to. But they've been sharpening thier claws alot, and now thier claws are like raptor claws. Ridiculously sharp.

Last night Kipper got stuck on my daughters bed, and started growling and hissing, because he was stuck, he couldnt get un-stuck. I woke up freaked out, thinking he went nuts and was gonna kill my daughter. But he was upside down, hanging off her bed. We got him un-stuck with alot of hissing though.

So anyways...What should I do about this. We're constantly getting these two un-stuck off of things.

Soft-paws maybe? Or just clipping the claws?

clip the claws...even if you put soft paws on youd have to clip them first. RJ

You should be able to just clip the sharp ends off and then no more getting stuck. The cats will smooth the edges on scratching posts.

Time to trim the claws when they get stuck to things. I know it's time to trim Jaffa's when he starts to get stuck to the sofa throw!

After I was relieved of knowing that he was NOT in fact killing my daughter, I was amused too. lol. Kipper hanging upside down was kind-of funny.

He forgives you. lol. Soft-paws are being applied tomarrow by the groomers. They are clipping, and applying soft-paws. lol. It shall be a funny day. They always use thier claws to get up on things, I see some falling in the near future.

I can't clip thier claws because they hate that, and growl at me when I try, that's where the groomer comes in handy. lol. No wonder I pay them so much.

Soft paws seems a little drastic - can't you just get the groomer to clip the claws? That will stop the sticking to things.

I would consider just trimming the claws. It is my experience that Soft Paws do not work. Also be careful, if they get stuck too many times then they run the risk of seroiusly injuring toes or worse-pulling out a claw. I have seen both happen at the vet clinic I work for. I used Soft Paws on Kipper before. When I first got Mushi after the long introduction, Kipper would sometimes "stab" Mushi. He's got a mean left hook. lol.
So we put Soft Paws on him, and they worked fine. I never had any problems with it before. He never bit them off or anything. :)
But I'm just going to trim thier claws. DH says we dont need to pay a groomer to do that, because we're saving up for one of those automatic litter boxes.
