Does anyone know what is the best kind of electronic litter box? I have four adult siamese. What kind is the most effective.

My favorite litter box of all of tried is the booda clean step. It kinda looks like an igloo with a ramp in...it keeps the most mess in the box and very little smell gets out. I'm planning to replace my other litter box with a second booda clean step when i get down to pet smart

I've seen pic's of these. They look interesting, but are they easy to keep clean? I scoop 2x a day. It looks like it would be hard to get in there to scoop and actually see what you were doing. It's a neat design though.

Actually you just lift the whole lid off to clean inside. The design seems to keep the litter inside along with the smell. I mainly got it because mine have the habit of poucing on each other in the litter box mid-poop and i end up with a big mess. :lol3:

Mine has a side scoop sift thingy. I got it off dogz.com and I can not figure it out :(

:wave2: littermaid fan, here - just got my 4th one. currently have 3 working littermaids. i've posted a lot about them in the past, so you should see my thoughts on them if you do the searches.

I'm in a small apartment, so I don't really have a good spot for the mega litter box.

I have an extra large regular litter box with a large rim going around it. This is placed inside of a huge rubbermaid that I've cut a hole in for a door. I keep a litter catcher mat in the space between the door and the box. When company comes over, I put the lid on it, so it looks just like a huge rubbermaid in my bathroom hallway. Otherwise, it's open air. Angelo isn't a fan of covered litter boxes. I know they make litter box furniture like this, but my DIY version only cost me $10. ;)

The downside is that Angelo tries to cover his litter by pawing at the sides of the rubbermaid. :rolleyes:

Random, I have two big guys and I hated the idea of getting a costly extra large litter box. So my husband said why don't we just use this. And it was just what you came up with. Though I use the whole thing as a kitty litter box. I have two Chi's that like to eat the cat litter. So cut a hole in the lid, and there you have it out of reach of silly dogs. LOL

I was going to try the chicken feed.i really like the littermaid [i'm assuming this was directed at me]. i have 3 now - the last one i got just before i added Chip to the family. it was $89 plus tax at wal-mart - it wasn't the mega, just the regular, but it's plenty big enough even for him, at 14 pounds. it came with a rug to put under it, & a scooper with tines spaced to fit between the tines on the rake, so you can clean it easily when stuff gets stuck, which it will on occasion. since no humans are home at my house during the day, there's no one there to scoop. i appreciate coming home to a house that doesn't smell like a dirty litterbox. it's also good for when i go away for a few days. the containers need emptying every 3-5 days, & i line them with 4 gallon garbage bags so i can reuse them. when they start to crack, i replace the container. the box comes w/12 containers, & you can buy more - again at wal-mart. for litter, i use tidy cats, altho i've also used arm & hammer & WBCL - anything that clumps firmly works.
