Max is my outside feline. To my knowledge Max has never been to the vet or had any vaccinations. No one in our neighborhood claims him, I live in a very small town but strays can be common. Today as Max was inside to eat I was petting him and felt small bumps covering the neck area. You could not see them until you divided the fur-he has black thick yet not long haired fur-and I saw small scab like formations and small to larger red lesions, looked like cuts, all over. I looked at his head and saw a small amount of dry blood by the ear. Maybe even a small notch on the side of the ear. I immediately took him outside, and came on here to investigate. I can't find anything that particulary fits this. Scabies maybe. No sign of fleas, don't notice him itching at all, eats fine, hair is NOT falling out in places, no weight loss. I thought that maybe the small cut like lesions could be from him scratching, but the different sizes and locations didn't match what would appear to be from his claws. I am going to take him to the vet but I would like to know if anyone has any input. Thank you.:confused:
