I swear, while im at work, my cat does this thing where she knots her mane into TINY little knots, and i can feel them when i pet her, and suprisingly, she allows me to yank on then, and try to pull them out with the brush. Is this normal? Is she bored and found a way occupy her time with tangling up her fur?

Perhaps its cause her mane is really busshy and long, i notice when she cleans herself there, after her licks, the fur is soo long, it stays in her mouth. DOes she need a trim? And why are there knots?

Thanks in advance for any response.
