Can i cut my nails with my nail clipers ? becuz when ever i play with her she scratches and her nails are sharp and if i can how far do i cut them ?

Personally I prefer the scissors-type clippers, because human nail clippers can splinter the claws, but in a pinch you can use human clippers. Just make sure to hold the clippers in a vertical position--that is, up and down, so that the claw is trimmed from bottom to top instead of across the nail, to help prevent splitting. If you cut across the nail, the nail is more likely to split.

With my cat Clover we always used human nail clippers (actually recommended by the vet when other clippers were splintering). But now we use the scissor type and they work very well.

that's what i use. the big, toenail version of people clippers. cut off the tips - don't cut where you see pink, 'cause that's flesh. just be careful with them!

I've used them when I couldn't find the cat clippers. I find that they are harder to handle and do cause the nails to have a jagged edge with splits. I use the kind that have a hole cut out for the nail and look like scissors.

You can theoretically use human nail clippers but the kind made for cats are much better for the job. They're available at any pet supply store and not very expensive.

Be sure to cut off just the tips of the nails. If you cut too far, you will cause bleeding and it is quite painful. If you are not sure of how far to cut, call your vet and schedule a "tech appointment" to have them show you how to do it. These appointments are usually only $20-$25 and you will see a vet tech or experienced vet assistant rather than the doctor.

Yes cut them - nail clippers will work on smaller nails - get a normal cat nail clipper when older.

Just cut the tips - you will see a red vein running down the nail (that is the quick and it will bleed if you cut into it). I would advise you to have someone who knows how to clip nails (vet, etc.) to show you the proper way.

Handle your kitten's feet a lot (without clipping) and trim as needed once or twice a week - kitten's nails grow fast.
