Sorry if I posted this in the wrong area, I'm new to this site and I am still adjusting.
Okay here's my problem.
I am severely allergic to cat litter (and cats but I can live with that )
I have tried clay based, Wood based, paper based corn based. Just about everything they have at petsmart. Nothing works. It seems everything has a powder to it, and it aggrivates my allergies.
My cats preferred The "PaPurr " brand. But the fragrance was too strong and ofcourse aggrivated my allergies to the point I could barely breathe.
Right now I am using Tidy cats crystals.
They work okay, but once the cats step in it, I have a pretty severe attack.
I am dealing with it for now, but I was wondering what type of cat litter you would reccomend. I am up to try just about anything right now.
I will never rehome my cats just because I am allergic, but I do need to find a litter that works.

How about good old fashioned dirt?????? Have you tried that, or will it be worse on your allergies???? Maybe you can make your own out of newspaper or cardboard that way you will know that there is no added powders or anything to it. Maybe you could put the litter pan in the basement or some other area of the house that you do not go in that often, and someone else could do the litter duties????Good luck!!

Have you tried the wood pellets found at a feed store they sont have the "frangrances that the pet store wood has... I am currently switching to worlds best from papurr due to the oder

:yeah: this is what a lot of people used prior to all the commercial litters.
