Emmett, being the cutest kitty alive thinks he doesn't need to groom his backside, especially after using the litter.

Last time I took him to the groomers I asked her to trim the fur in that area in hopes it was just sticking to the longer fur. It was clean for maybe a week.

What can I do to make him groom that area, or is there anything I can use to clean him quickly without a big fuss?

They make pet wipes that work well for adorable Emmett's issue. At the vet clinic I used to work in, we used regular baby wipes that you can get in the grocery store. They usually cost less than the "pet wipes" and the vets said they were pretty much the same thing.

Baby wipes would be ok to use on a cat? I have no problem buying some, I just want to make sure they are safe for him.

You should be able to find cat bath wipes at Petsmart, Petco, Walmart or any other place that sells pet supplies. I'm not sure about regular baby wipes... especially since cats do so much licking I wouldn't want to take a chance. But the ones made for cats are fine!

I use baby wipes for the very problem you're having and also for cleaning his face (poor thing, he actually gets blackheads around his mouth!) My vet told me they were fine to use...

unscented baby wipes are best (rather than scented ones) :)

I started with the unscented baby wipes, but have now started using the scented Kandoos (toddler wet wipes which can be flushed in the toilet). My cat hates the smell and has first started to groom his behind after I wiped it, now he even cleans it the moment I walk to the wipes... he may learn one day.
