Hey, I grew up there! Why don't you try the shelters, there are a lot of good ones, and lots of kitties needing homes. Also, that way you get to meet your prospective new friend and see if you bond! Also, www.petshelter.org and www.petfinder.net can help you locate shelters, find out their policies, and many even have pics and stories about the cats up for adoption. Good luck!
