In a few weeks I'm taking a trip. It's 600 miles one way and I'll be driving. I don't know quite what to do about Jeremiah. A neighbor would probably be willing to look in on him, feed, water, etc., but he'd be alone almost the whole time. I'm pretty certain he's lonely enough as it is, because he doesn't let me out of his sight when I'm home. (Wish I was in a position to get him a brother or sister!)

There's the option of taking him with me. And hoping I find some cat-friendly hotels.

But I don't know how he'd react to such a long spell in the car. He's only been in a car twice in his four or so months of life for a total of perhaps twenty minutes. I'm getting him a harness with an eye on getting him walking on a leash, but I don't know if a month will be long enough to train him.

Could someone give me some ideas and comments on this?

If you go to travelocity or expedia, you can find out in advance if they accept pets (which saves on the phone bill).

Otherwise, I would consider maybe a boarding kennel. Depending on your kitties personality they might not be too upset to take over the house while your away.
