New to the site and the forums here and wanted to introduce myself and hope to find an answer to my question.
The lot can call me Saura and the user handle is (perhaps rudementary) Sanskrit for "solar compassion". I've grown up with only one cat, a Russian Blue, who was my mother's first child; she died at the age of 20 due to health complications. Interesting story, though. Years ago when I was an infant and she was but a kitten, I would often cry and scream whenever I was put in my height chair. The kitten, Sada, did not appreciate the wailing and as such would hop atop the height chair and, without a claw extended, swat me on my head. Oddly enough, every swat made me stop crying.
I wish I had videos.
It is Sada who has inspired me to get a kitten now that I can both afford the money and living space. I wish to buy a Russian Blue, but I neither need nor want a show (purebred?). Would anyone happen to know the price of a Russian Blue to be sold as a housecat without any desire to show or breed?
Am I better off simply buying a mixed breed American short-hair that has a blue coat?
