Hello I am new here and was told I should introduce myself here.

My name is Becky, I am the proud momma of 18 cats and 4 dogs.
Many are rescues or were born from pregnant rescues.

My passion is in rescuing cats who are physically handicapped, mentally retarded, blind, elderly or emotionally handicapped.

My most special kitty is Sidney. Sidney was shot by a man in our neighborhood and had to have his leg amputated. Due to the kindness of people all over the world who came forth and donated to his vet, Sid had his emergency surgery in less than 72 hours.

Here is an image of Sidney his first day home post op:

Photos of my other fur children can be found at my Handipets Forum in the members photo gallery (Rayhawk)

Look forward to reading and seeing pics

Welcome to TCS, Becky! Yes, I'd say that you have a devotion to cats all right! :) I hope that you have volunteers to help you out with your many duties, but I know that in rural areas, people in your situation are like a "lone voice calling in the desert". Well, I'm too far away to help out much, but I'd like to offer you lots of encouragement!!! I look forward to hearing more about you & your furbabies soon!! Susan

My two sons are disabled they are 18 (will be 19 next month) and 14 (will be 15 in June) and my partner are all helpers of the clan. With the 4 of us we do pretty good. My partner is beginning studies to be a Vet. Tech. We plan later to move to Arizona where she will finish out her college studies for DVM and we plan then to have a larger sanctuary with a live in Vet. Our focus then will be to help low income families with vet care for their pets.

Hi Becky, welcome to TCS! By any chance are you a member of Handicats yahoo list? :)

I have a physically disabled cat myself, his name is Moo-moo, and he has no use of his rear legs and tail due to a spinal accident (found & rescued him like that). He's a happy fellow, and quite loving too! :) He gives us much joy, and we love him a lot. I think special needs kitties are more loving than their normal peers... but heck! Cats are great companions and I thank God for them!

Bless you for taking care of these beautiful creatures! Have a great stay here! :)

Sidney is just a fluffy neutered male as far as we can tell, we dont know much about his parantage as he is from a rescued feral who was pregnant. All we know for sure is his momma was not maine coon. I just love his fuzzy cheeks and the stripe on his nose.

Celeste is another of my handicats, she was born with an unknown metabolic disorder that causes malabsorbtion syndrome. She is incredibly tiny, we often call her Dainty Celeste. I loved that picture I got of her, it was such a pretty pose and really shows her as the dainty little girl.

Hi and welcome to TCS!!!! :wavey:

Thank you for the welcome, I have not been here as much as I would like, I have been preparing for my mom to move in and we are building a large cat cage so my cats can go in/out at will.
