Hello everyone,

I have owned cats since I was 9, I am 26 now. Currently we have 11 total...with one being a persian and kittens on the way in what I think will be just a few short weeks....we have never had a mom cat as normally we fix them early enough to not have then get preg...but times have been rough and lots happening...including my neice Jaina being born right about the time Elfi got pregnant.

Welcome to TCS. Good luck with your cat...please make sure that you get her spayed once her kittens are weaned...and you may want to get the kittens spayed/neutered before they go to their new homes.

I will get pics asap...but next week is exam week and move home time so I'm real busy...and the scanner is at home...have yet to get it installed on this puter as I just got it in feb and its been a busy year. But once I'm home I'll start scanning...oh how I wish I had a digital cam.

We plan on spaying her as soon as the kittens are weened as well as fixing any we keep I'm hoping for at least 1. Not sure about the ones that we don't keep though that is my mom's chioce.

Fix 'em now, or pay later, that's what I always tell people is how it goes. Thinking that someone else will take care of it usually doesn't work unless you all agree that's how it works.

Stop in at local businesses, and ask the owners if they would pitch in $20 toward a spay or neuter. There is no reason your Mom needs to foot the whole bill, but MANY reasons to get the spays and neuters done!

We don't live in an area where local businesses help with anything like that.....unless your related and we aren't to anyone. Around here only way to make sure a cat will get fixed is the humane society or pay for it yourself. Also this is not my decision what route we take. It is my mom's house my mom's rules and most likely the kittens we don't keep will go to people we know, or the humane society, and with them being kittens they'll get homes very quickly I know when my friend was looking for a kitten it took us a month of checking with them before they had kittens.
My mom is firm on her belief that if it isn't her cat and that she isn't keeping it she is not going to foot any the bill to have them fixed...which is why Poe who has been around as a stray/ferrel for 2 years now is not fixed. Elfi was supposed to get fixed the end of March or April.

I am not trying to sound rude I feel that we should be allowed to make sure they are fixed and still be allowed to find them good homes without having to leave it to the humane society or paying for it all ourselves. But when it comes to my mom and anything to do with money she has her opinions and there is no chance you'll change them...for instance 2 years ago I owed my mom 20,000 now I owe less then 12000...but I haven't paid a dime to her...how the bill is going down I don't know but she says I paid her...I'm not going there.....and if I won't go there to say that I'm not going there to say she should spend money on something she don't want to or think she should.
