My little guy has to wear an ecollar because he has a huge gash on his ear. Underneath his ears, because of the earmite medicine he was on, is all matted. He's been itching it more and more, even though the medicine for the cut keeps it moist, so there's no scab. I was wondering if any one knows if the matt might be causing discomfort for him and causing him to itch at that ear? TIA

Yes very much so and can cause some bad skin problems as well.

I was going to try and wait until his cut healed to take him to be groomed because I don't want to tease him with taking the ecollar off and then putting it back on, but since I now know that it's probably hindering the healing process, I'll make an appointment today.
