I posted in the health forum that my furboys had tapeworms - the neighbours dog got in and gave my boys fleas and they got tapeworm as a result :onfire:
Anyways, I can see that I need to clean out the litterboxes as they were treated with drontal this morning, I just need to know how soon do I clean up the litterbox - scrub, etc - do I wait until the worms are out of their systems or do I do it now?
Hope someone can help me!

You need to keep the litter box very clean - I personally would use bleach.

I plan to do that, but I was wondering when the right time was because if they get all the worms out of their system after I clean out the box and put in new litter, I dont want them reinfested.

I would use just enough litter so they can do their digging thing and empty/disinfect as frequently as possible. That way you ensure that your kitties won't be re-infected.

After they are treated, the worms and eggs are dead that they expel. Soak your pans now in vinegar for about 20 minutes, then hose off with hot water, then clean with bleach and water. While they are being treated, just make sure to change your litter more often than you are now. And of course use Advantage or Frontline on them to stop the fleas.

Thanks both of you, they are soaking in vinegar as we speak. Peedoodle is very curious as to what I am doing
Next, I am washing all the bedding. Oh boy.
How do I flea and worm treat a armchair - I cannot fit it in the washing machine. :D
