Mom of 10 Cats 2nd July 2003, 05:20 AM What handsome boys they are!!!!
DragonLady 2nd July 2003, 05:23 AM I'm learning some very hard lessons with breeding. :(
Hubby and I have written a letter to our vets office (6 vets on staff) asking if they have one vet that is familiar with cats in a breeding program. I am hoping that when I bring in one kitty with a URI they will give me meds for all the kitties as they love to pass those sort of things around. I do not cage my kitties and they tend to share more than just food and water!LOL
I am bringing a new male into the cattery in August/September He is a van black with the dilute gene. He will be perfect with my bicolor/dilute program I have wanted to start for some time now. He is 2 years old as of last month and just beautiful. The Queens I have to go with him are Drysi a solid blue, Raider (when she is of age) a calico who's Dam is a dilute calico van, and Starry my own kitten from our first litter who is a tortie.
WellingtonCats 2nd July 2003, 05:30 AM Hi Teresa!
From what I could see , that's a lovely van!
What cattery are you getting him from? Good Luck with the vets! Do you have nice vets??
Good Luck with the new colors.
Sam.
DragonLady 2nd July 2003, 05:42 AM The vets are VERY nice, but, don't seem to understand that we have more than one or two and how easily they transfer the sniffles...They are even giving us a nice discount because we are there often with questions Frankie, kittens getting shots and micro-chipped ect.
They also said the kittens died because they were premature, the night vet said fading kitten syndrom. The Fanciers Health site said a strep G was the culprit. Those symptoms were exactly what we experienced with the babies. It is introduced either by the cord or by mouth.
I copied the paper that was written about it and passed it on to the vets too.
I will be getting new photos of Chance soon!
WellingtonCats 2nd July 2003, 05:47 AM I'm glad that you have nice vets. We have a fantastic vet, she really knows her stuff and she also breeds cats :)
I'm so sorry , I'm not really up with the play here, who's chance? Was she in that litter as well  ?
Uhh. Again sorry about those kittens!
DragonLady 2nd July 2003, 05:51 AM Opps.... Chance is the new boy I'm getting.
WellingtonCats 2nd July 2003, 05:54 AM Awww Sorry! Chance is a lovely name. I would love to see the photos when you get them :) Thanks.
