We decided that we wanted to try WBCL but the store was out. So, the guy in the store suggested a corn cob litter that they had. We got it, put it in a clean litter box and brought Gus, our 6 month old kitten, in to meet the new litter. Well, he sat down and started eating it!! Has this ever happened to anyone else?

The eating is WHY many went off clay... as it is corn or wheat and okay to ingest ...

When I first tried WBCL, Darcy tried a couple of mouthfuls. Now, she just sticks to eating the stray pieces off the floor.

I mixed in some of the old litter (feline pine) and he got the hint and peed. I knew litter eating was an issue with very young kittens, but I've never known of a cat to do it as they got older.

Same here. So is eating litter in older cats a behavior or a medical issue?
