View Full Version : Nice Work
Kai Bengals 7th March 2008, 01:49 AM The hawk was making noise, so let's try to kill it. He succeeded.
(claims he was only trying to scare it, but I don't buy it, since he was excited by how close a prior shot came to the birds head)

theimp98 7th March 2008, 01:57 AM to bad they cant put him 100 yards away, and let other take a swing at him.
GoldenKitty45 7th March 2008, 02:17 AM Good I'm glad he's being prosected for this - that's just plain mean and hateful. There are other ways to chase off a hawk!
keith p 7th March 2008, 02:47 AM How crazy, over a golf game? The guy must have been bad if he was distracted so easily, glad he was punished.
mrblanche 7th March 2008, 02:16 PM Well, actually it wasn't in a game, it was in some sort of TV show he was filming.
Killing a raptor can be very serious.
ckblv 7th March 2008, 05:00 PM What a disgusting man, I hope he never wins another golf game.
And all the people watching that were to scared to intervene are a bunch of cowards IMO. I KNOW I would have.
lookingglass 7th March 2008, 05:17 PM I don't get why killing the bird was the first option.
catsknowme 7th March 2008, 06:08 PM that poor, poor hawk - fly freely over RB.
So the onlookers must have felt intimidated :doh3: :dash: after all, he IS the golf pro- which is what happens when one person holds another in higher esteem (we don't have royalty in the US, just celebrities :nono: )
Can you imagine what his family & the "3 cats that his family adopted from the shelter (proving that he's an animal lover) must feel like?? :anon: :sulk: :sulk: :sulk: With that kind of mentality & temper, I worry what the cats might go thru :(
Skippymjp 7th March 2008, 07:10 PM I've done hundreds of miles of canoing and kayaking on wild rivers, and know a wee bit about Hawks. If it was that close to people and not wanting to leave, that means that they were close to it's nest. I hope that they throw the book at this cowardly slimeball....or a few buckets of golf balls...and the buckets.

Great, so now there's a nest with no mother? What about the chicks?

Thats one part I actually don't know. Do Hawks have chicks this time of year? Seems to me they have a mating season. I'll try looking that up.

Please research this and get back to us. I'd really like to know if she had a nest going.
Skippymjp 7th March 2008, 08:27 PM It's not quite mating season yet. Although there won't be any chicks, she (or he) was no doubt just waiting for the humans to leave so she could continue repairing the nest for the upcoming season. She was simply where she was supposed to be this time of year, doing exactly what she was supposed to be doing. :(
Red-shouldered hawks breed once per year between April and July, with peak activity occurring between early April and mid June. They often use the same nest from year to year, refurbishing it each spring. Both the male and female build or refurbish the nest, which is large and deep, constructed from sticks, twigs, shredded bark, leaves and green sprigs.

That is a total cop out. Intimidated by a golf pro? Please:rolleyes:

I wonder how this guy would feel if he was repairing his house and someone shot him because he was making too much noise.
:onfire:

Being that it's in Florida, they could be mating..our warm weather starts alot earlier here. We have osprey that paired up near our shop weeks ago, like they do at this one nest pole every year, but I'm not sure if anyone has been sitting on eggs yet or not.
The guy is a jerk. I'm not a fan of golf but if I would have been there, I would have raised a stink about it. I'm glad he is being prosecuted & is getting bashed nationwide.
