I am not trying to start a debate or anything, just want to share this soldiers memory. It hit really close to home because he is a local. :angel:

I am planning on going to show my support tomorrow with some friends as well...we will all hold our flags!

People are protesting at soldiers's funerals? Good lord, why?

Nobody on earth despises this evil, profit-driven war and the conscienceless monsters behind it any more than I do -- but to protest by disrupting a soldier's funeral, to in effect blame HIM for the war... that's incomprehensible.

I'm all for protest, but it has to be directed to the right place: 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Monica just text messaged me, she said all the protestors are behind barricades :nod: And something about them protesting about things that aren't even pertaining to this soldier.
It's sad to see people using this as an opportunity to express thier views about anything they don't like :(

Then this truck was parked across the road from where we moved to, out on the highway which was also lined with supporters!

It was such an amazing thing to see everyone come together.

BTW, Sgt Mackey is one of the first men killed in Iraq from southeast Kansas.

God Bless the TROOPS!!!!!!!! I feel sad whenever I hear a soldier die. I know and understand why they are over there, but it still hurts when they die. One of my best friends,Aaron, just started his 3rd tour there. He will be there for 15 months this time, before he was there 8 and 12 months. Everyday when I hear a locol sodlier has been injured or killed I just pray and watch and hope it is not Aaron. I am extreamly greatful and thankful for all the soldiers who make sure all people are free.
