I'm slightly sad about this. I'll miss blowing on a picture.

I have a Polaroid that I haven't used in ages. I guess I'd better stock up on film for it.

Polaroids were really neat, weren't they? At least they are willing to license someone else to make the film if they want.

Yep :lol3:

I was one of the kids that did pics for the school both in high school and college. I was reading where they have even cut way back on the photo paper that are making.

Black and white pics on a digital camerea just does not have the same look.

Man...I was looking forward to showing my future kids that. I remember thinking that Polaroids were magical pictures as a kid.

Wow, to hear this is shocking. Some things you just never expect to go the way of the buffalo.. If they get rid of polaroids it will be just one more thing to collect in the attics of the world. Move over the old exercise machines, 8 track tape players, laserdisc collections and boxes of things you barely remember owning to make some room.

Is there some other type of "instant" picture similar to them that will fill the gap or is it just another item disappearing into the history of man?

I have one of those Polaroids that take sticky photos, and I tried getting film for it last year but couldn't. We live in the age of digital now.:pix:

Does this make Outkast's song "Hey Ya!" obsolete as well? (The last part of the song is where they sing, "Shake it like a Polaroid picture.") http://youtube.com/watch?v=XvIw5ZqC1ms

Is there some other type of "instant" picture similar to them that will fill the gap or is it just another item disappearing into the history of man?Digital has replaced it as it is instant and then you find a printer. Somehow looking at a tiny view finder just isn't as exciting as watching the picture develop before your eyes.

I knew this had to happen. I had my first digital camera in 1996 and predicted Kodak would go out of business. That has not happened but I have not seen anybody with film in a long, long time.
