Our one year old female cat, Dulcinea always smells REALLY great...not just clean, but like a faint olive oil-light rose scent. She's always washing herself...but has never been bathed. She has been spayed...after having a small litter (3 healthy kittens in September of '06)...but why does she always smell so good??? This may be a stupid question...but everyone notices it. Strangers meet Dulcinea and want to know if I put after shave/cologne on her...she smells that good. Any ideas???
Thanks in advance.

Do you have live plants where she can rub against or around? Perhaps its something in what you use to wash your clothes, blankets, etc. in the house :)

I actually believe that Sancho Panza had some little viles of what you are describing if memory serves me correctly.

and Dulcinea doesn't go outside...EVER. We use TIDE withOUT scent (I'm allergic) to wash our clothes. Can't imagine what it is, BUT I am VERY thankful for it...whatever it is!

My Ginger smells like Hazelnuts, and I have NO idea why. It's just how she smells, and I love to sniff her!

We don't use scented litter either...Dulcinea doesn't like the scented kind. We use Arm & Hammer...UNscented. Guess this will remain a mystery.
My best to you all...and thank you for your responses.

Maybe ask the vet the next time she goes for her check up.

Radar smells of Nate's deodorant, I don't know why because he rarely if ever cuddles Nate, and Sonic smells of nothing just that very faint cat smell.
