Well, not exactly new..but just a returning member who hasn't posted in ages. My name is Melanie, and I have 30 cats. All of them are rescues, they are all spayed/neutered. And they are all loved! (And of course healthy! :))

I also have 12 dogs, 25 rats, 4 mice, 2 gerbils,2 hamsters, a turtle, a frog, and fish! I guess you could call me a zoo!;) Pictures to come very shortly!

The backyard has a fence topper on it to keep the cats in our yard.. and they have cat doors from the garage, to the kitchen, to the dogs room..So they are inside outside..but they can't wander the neighborhood. (Most hang out inside)

Welcome (again!) to TheCatSite and THANK YOU for rescuing, spaying/neutering, and adopting! I'm a fellow Cali girl who rescues (spays, neuters, and adopts, too, of course!) At present, the family boasts 9 cats and 4 hens (plus any and all desert wildlife who want to live on the land here, or just visit -- the more, the merrier). Isn't life wonderful when you share it with feline (and other) loved ones? I know it is for us!

it sure is! We also feed several strays. I name them, and i probably should add them to my signature lol..They pretty much live over at our house. We take it a lot of stray dogs as well.. currently my days are busy trying to find a home for an abandoned rottweiler we found! The sweetest dog..but no one is claiming her as theirs! Its very stressful!

But I love sharing my life with all my fur babies!

And yes, it IS stressful bearing such compassion and so much responsibility while so many seem to have none at all -- but that's how we are wired, and we can also see it as being a gift or a blessing. I know I do -- I really feel sorry for those who do not know what a precious gift the unconditional love and loyalty of cats (or other species) is...
