Name: Zazu
Sex: Female
Is this a Memorial Page? No
Year of Birth: 2002
Breed: DSH
Fur Color: Black
Eye Color: Yellow, but when she was a kitten they were pumkin orange - I thought they'd stay that way! Biography: Zazu is the most gentle animal I've ever met. She's a big (14.6 lbs) puffy cat - her fur usually sticks nearly straight out - yet she has the tiniest high pitched meow possible. All you have to do is touch her and she goes into a purring frenzy - her purrs are deep & very, very loud, quite a rumble! She's very shy, and will run & hide for hours if even the mailman stops by...she's a doll.

Arrival Story: I adopted Zazu from a local no-kill shelter when she was about 6 months old, as company for another 6 month old kitten, Taz. She and her brother were dropped off overnight as tiny kittens, and she had lived the first 6 months of her life in a 2 foot cage (but at least she was alive!). The first year or so that I had her, her muscles were so atrophied that she couldn't jump or climb stairs. Now one of her favorite "toys" is a wood ladder she runs up & down...
Favorite Food & Treats: As for food, she'll eat anything. If a hippo wandered in front of her, she'd try to eat it.
Favorite Toys: Zazu doesn't play much - she chases balls of paper or aluminum foil, and often she brings them back so I can throw them again. She loves to run up & down a 6 ft. wood ladder I have - she gets to the top & chases her tail. I'd have to say tail-chasing is her favorite game - she stretches up on tippy-toes every time she turns & sees her own tail, like it's the first time she's seen it! Then she spends a solid hour trying to catch it - it cracks me up! |
