Wendell is an abuse case rescue. He was given to a lady by her sister who found them as strays at about 10 weeks old. This is what I was told...The husband didn't want the kittens (two brother's) and was very abusive to the kittens. Dunking them in the toilet and then putting outside to freeze on the third level deck of the apt. or trying to put them in the freezer. The husband refused to let the lady buy them regular cat food so the cats not only were abused they were not fed much at all. They endured this abuse for about 7 mos.

Arrival Story:

I received a frantic call from someone who knows I am a cat lover and have rescued in the past. The two cats were dumped on him one afternoon by the lady who lives in the next apt. during one of her husbands rage fits. This person called me right away and asked if I could please come and take the cats as they have been terribly abused and are extremely scared. I went to see Wendall and his brother, Walden. They were about 8 mos. old, very, very thin and just had a look of despair and grief in their beautiful eyes. I took them directly to the shelter where I do some volunteer work and they received their tests, shot and wormings with the help of my friend and cat director at a shelter. The plan was for me to foster them till they came around and out of their fear and terror. I would only adopt them out together as they have a deep bond. One home possibility came up but when they came over to see the cats, the man must have reminded them of their abuser and they ran and hid the whole time. I knew it would not have worked out and they ended up adopting another set of cats directly from the shelter. Well, after seven weeks of care I cannot give them up unless the perfect home and situation comes along. I am extremely attached to both of them. They are adjusting beautifully and are very, very happy here living with my other cats.

Wendall (I picked out this name for him LOL) and he already has a nickname, Bonkers, because he bonks his bowl with his head as I am placing it down for him to eat. He is quite a character. He LOVES to eat!!!! I have never seen a cat like him when it comes to food. He will eat everything and anything, and I mean it!!! What is good for us is just fine for him. He will steal food from your plate and take off with it in seconds flat, pieces of pizza, sandwiches, even dragged a huge bag of potato chips off LOL. He is not much of a player in the interactive sessions I have with all of the cats together. He will play for a few seconds but then retreats to a hiding spot and just watches and then will dart out again for another try. He loves to sleep at the foot of my bed every night. He is not a lap cat, but follows me everywhere and is very inquisitive. He has a very cute shape and a little stocky body. His legs seem a bit short and he is getting quite the belly on him. I am hoping to have many happy years with these boys and shower them with the love and care they deserve. Very docile cat. He also has a strange sounding meow, almost like he is just too lazy to meow LOL. A cute little grumble sound and it sounds like he is saying "mama" when he gets fed. Such a little joy.

Favorite Food & Treats:

OH MY, this cat will eat ANYTHING!!! He seriously loves anything you offer him. I don't even think he has a favorite LOL. Everything is his favorite!! Even dog food LOL.

He loves the track ball scratcher and is very good at it and spins around on top of it. He loves to chase the red or green dot LOL. Wendall has a favorite little grey mouse that he enjoys carrying around and batting all over the house. I usually am getting it out from under the fridge or stove!!!
