Biography:

My Purt came into my life when I was 11 years old.I got to pick out a kitten from my Aunt Jerry's litter.

We chose him and his brother. He was and still is my baby. On January 9th 2012

I noticed that he was drooling. I watched him all day and he slept and wouldn't eat. He was telling me he was sick. This was the first time he showed any signs of sickness. I got very worried and took him to the vet. They did bloodwork.

The next day I took him in again to get the results and found out he had pancreatitis, and liver disease.

He was sitting on the bench at the Vet between me and my husband. I didn't know what to do. I could keep him and subject him to rigorous medications and hospitalization, or I could let him go. It was the hardest thing I ever had to do in my life.

I had to let my baby pass on with some dignity. We stayed with him as he passed. I lost my best friend of 18 years on January 12th 2012. I can't stand life without him. It hurts so bad sometimes I can't breathe. I will miss him everyday. I know he is waiting for me. He has all the socks and scarves he could ever want.

Awe, I am sorry for your loss. I know and feel your pain. I've lost 2 cats--first one is Dusty that I had 19 years and the second one is mesha who only last couple years. Dusty died naturally and Mesha we had to put asleep. it was the hardest things I ever had to do or witness.
Hi there,
I am so sorry to hear about your precious Purrty (love the name btw). Right now my baby of 14 years was diagnosed with end stage kidney disease. When they gave me the news I felt as though my body went numb and I just completely lost it once I got home. I'm already in mourning even though my baby is still with me. How have you been coping these past couple of months?? I know it's going to kill me just like you wrote about not being able to stand it cuz it hurts so bad. I lived alone with him for a long time (until my mom moved in with me). He's my child, my friend, my companion...and he loves me as much as I love him. I don't want him to suffer and may have to make that awful decision of putting him to sleep sooner rather than later. When you made that decision for Purrty, how was his quality of life at that time? My cat has stopped eating, just drinks milk and water, has lost a lot of weight for a cat BUT, he still plays, he's alert, shows interest in things, he purrs when happy, etc. Not sure it's time just yet. If losing Purrty had any bright side to it whatsoever, maybe it's so that you can help others going through the same thing you did. I'm sure I'll do the same when the time comes. Thanks and again, my deepest condolences!!
