Spring is here. It's that time of year again, all over the Northern hemisphere. Dormant larvae of cat fleas are coming to life again, triggered by longer days and warmer weather. Cats that are allowed outdoors are at greater risk, but indoors-only cats may also be affected. Larve and eggs of cat fleas could be hiding inside your home, in carpets and furniture. In fact, if you had a flea infestation last year, you are likely to be seeing some remnant coming to life soon enough...
So, what can you do? Fight back! And the best way is by prevention. That means starting early, not waiting for the actual fleas to find a new habitat inside your cat's coat.
There are several anti-flea products available for cat owners. In the lead, in terms of both safety and effectiveness, you will find Frontline Plus and Advantage. Safety is actually a major concern when it comes to anti-flea products, especially topical ones. The ingredients contained within topical anti-flea treatments are absorbs in the cat's body, through its skin. If they are too toxic or unsuitable for cats, your cat may actually get poisoned.
The solution? Keep safety in mind and adhere to the following guidelines -
- Use only trusted brand names such as Frontline Plus and Advantage.
- Use only products that intended specifically for cats.
- Use the exact amount specified - never overdose!
If you have never used Frontline Plus or Advantage on your cat, watch the cat closely during the first hours following applications. If you see any reactions to the product, call your vet right away.
How to save on Frontline Plus and Advantage?
