    What is your dream cat?

I was seriously considering getting a Turkish Angora. Then at one cat show (showing Household Pets) I was benched next to an Abyssinian breeder and it was all over. My first Aby has crossed the Rainbow Bridge but I still have one. The rest of my cats are all rescues.

Weight loss, ravenous appetite and vomiting

It can't hurt to try the hyperthyroid med first before going to more invasive procedures or harsh medications. I don't remember being told about any severe side effects when Iris was started on methimazole, just that we would have to watch her liver and kidney lab values. We tried the...

    How to identify identical newborns

I used the toddler (really small) size elastic hair ties in different colors. You just have to watch carefully to make sure they don't get too tight as the kittens grow.

Ruby – 3,830 days was not enough

I'm so sorry. Every cat I've lost has gone too soon, but it's especially heartbreaking when they're still young. Ruby wasn't a kitten, but she was still young at heart. :rbheart:

What is she? She chose us, so I've no idea

Actually, it's the other way around. Blue eyes on a white cat are often associated with deafness. If it's two different color eyes, the cat might (or might not) be deaf on the same side as the blue eye.

Does she look like some sort of Bengal mix?

@StefanZ I think this may be a regional thing. I've found that green eyes in moggies are very common where I am. The cats I've had with green eyes include Black & White, Black Smoke & White, Blue, Blue & White, Blue Smoke & White, and Brown Patched Tabby. One of my friends has a solid black...

What breed are your kittens? Are there any known conditions that are common in the breed?

Does she look like some sort of Bengal mix?

She's a Domestic Shorthair (DSH) with a tabby pattern. I can't see enough of her sides to be sure, but it may be a classic tabby pattern. As @Caspers Human said, spots on the belly are typical of most tabbies, with the exception of some ticked tabbies.

    Guessing my girl's age

It's always a guessing game with cats, especially once they're full grown. You can't really go by their teeth or how well they jump. I had one cat who had all his teeth out before he was 2 years old because of horrible FORLS, stomatitis, and any other tooth issues you can think of. This was...

    Why my cat like this?

It looks like an infection, or possibly the eye was injured in some way. You should take the cat back to the vet if you can. They'll probably prescribe eye drops at the least. Make sure when you call that you tell them it's urgent so they don't make you wait weeks for an appointment.

    What breed is my cat?

Domestic Shorthair, no specific breed. Tabby is a pattern, not a breed. I would call his color/pattern red tabby and white. What color are his eyes? If they're blue he might be a pointed cat whose color on the body has darkened with age.

Concerns about vet's treatment of pregnant cat.

How far along is she? I could be the kittens moving, which is expected around 4-6 weeks.
