Young stray cat in labor for three days

Yes, I am thinking dead baby or babies as well. I told her it was an emergency and she needs to take the cat to the ER. I think she may relinquish the cat to the humane society. I am not sure. I hate getting calls like this because, my hands are tied. There is nothing I can do other than tell...

Young stray cat in labor for three days

Hello. There’s a young stray cat that was found pregnant and has been kept in the ladies bathroom. The cat apparently had one kitten three days ago, and that kitten died. Since then, this cat has been panting and acting as though in labor still three days later this is still going on. The...

    Need help finding right concealer/foundation

I use Peter Thomas Roth instant firm no filter primer, then when dry I apply Clinique even better concealer with a brush. Both products aren’t cheap, but do last quite a while. I could never find any less expensive brands that didn’t make me look older.

    incision scar

It’s totally up to you. Provided she is acting normal and keeping the cone on, she should be fine. If you are concerned, you can take her to the ER or an urgent care and most likely they will glue it with a drop of surgical glue.

    incision scar

Hi. If it has been 7 days, I would assume the inner sutures have healed. Put the collar back on and if you use clumping litter, switch to shredded paper or paper litter so she doesn’t get clumps of litter on it. Other than that, leave it alone and keep her as quiet as you can, inside of course...

    Constipation Meltdown!

Hi. There are forms of inflammatory bowel disease that present as constipation. I am not a veterinarian, so the following is just my opinion. I would switch her to canned food only and cut out any dry food. Dry food, all dry food is high in carbohydrates. Some cats cannot process carbohydrates...

The dilemma of care vs trauma

Hi. Please, go ahead and rant away. We are all here to support each other and that goes along with ranting about vets. I completely understand your frustration. Because, stress does play an important role in whether or not a cat gets better, and their general heath. I worked for many different...

    Constipation Meltdown!

Also, often constipation is caused by dehydration. I would try adding water to food if she will eat it. I am assuming your vet checked to make sure she doesn’t have an obstruction. Obstructed cat will not pass stool, but when given a laxative may have blow out liquid diarrhea because it will be...

Dental issues in senior cat w/ heart murmur

Hi. If you do add the Mirtazipine, you might want to reduce the dose, as the Gabapentin and Mirtazipine combined can increase the effects of both. How long has it been since she ate?

Was 2 hours late to give cat Apoquel...Is it alright to give dose at the same time tomorrow?

Hi. I have no experience using apoquel in cats. The side effects seem a bit much, to me. To play it safe, you could give the dose as soon as you can and then give the next dose 11 1/2 hours later and increase or decrease by 30 minutes, each dose until she is back on schedule. So, if you gave it...

That is so strange. When we did war packs at work, we never made them wear a cone afterwards.

    Atopica problem

Hi. It was a weird situation. He had been to the dermatologist and had bloodwork done to determine what he was allergic to. The test is called a RAST test. The results showed he was highly allergic to dust mites, certain pollens and grasses as well as many other inhaled substances. The...
